The Cause and Treatment of Female Osteoporosis
Female Osteoporosis is an osteoporotic disease which occurs in women and is called osteonecrosis. The normal process of osteonecrosis causes bone loss, the process known as osteoporotic fracture. In female osteoporosis, there is a distinct decrease in bone mineral density, which results in decreased bone mass and increased susceptibility to fractures. Although it is difficult to prevent and treat, osteoporosis can be controlled and improved with medications such as estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Unfortunately, in women, bone loss tends to occur earlier in life and the incidence of osteoporotic fracture increases with age. This is fortunate, because early prevention is often the best treatment. Preventative measures, such as a good diet and regular exercise, can help to slow the progression of bone loss and increase bone mineral density.
